Established in 1995, the Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy (DSIRE) is an ongoing project of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Power Technologies and managed by the North Carolina Solar Center. The website has the most comprehensive information on state, local, and utility incentives that promote renewable energy, including definitions and in-depth project descriptions.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network Wind Energy Program

This website provides information on Department of Energy-sponsored research and projects in wind technology. The site also contains valuable information on wind energy technologies and applications as well as up-to-date information on wind resources of the US.

National Wind Technology Center

Operated by the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the NWTC home page features information on wind turbine technology, research, economics, and avian issues, including a wind resource database. The site also contains a comprehensive list of NREL publications.

Renewables for Sustainable Village Power

This website gives an overview of the RSVP program and its projects, which bring electricity to rural areas. It includes the analytical models used and a library of documents.

Sandia National Laboratory's Wind Energy Technology Program

This website details the SNL's wind program, which seeks to develop knowledge and tools to address critical technical questions affecting the commercialization of wind. The site provides general information as well as full-length reports on research projects at the laboratory.

Wind Powering America Initiative

This website details the Department of Energy's efforts to increase the use of wind energy in the United States, including information on what wind power is, where it's located, and how to get it.

American Wind Energy Association

AWEA is a trade and advocacy organization that represents the U.S. wind energy industry as well as wind energy advocates from around the world. This website provides up-to-date information on wind projects, wind technologies and companies, and policy developments related to wind and other renewable energy development.

Green-e Renewable Electricity Certification Program

The Green-e program is a voluntary certification program for renewable energy products, run by the non-profit Center for Resource Solutions.  The website provides information on Green-e certification aimed at both consumers and green power providers, including information on Tradable Renewable Certificates (TRCs), an innovative market mechanism to give energy consumers more green power options.

National Wind Coordinating Committee

The National Wind Coordinating Committee is a forum to provoke dialogue and multi-stakeholder teamwork to support sustainable wind development. The site has a wealth of resources, including the NWCC's issue briefs and issue paper series designed to provide balanced information on current wind issues to state policy officials and other decision-makers.

The Renewable Energy Policy Project seeks to accelerate the use of renewable technology through policy research and advocacy. REPP publishes a series of papers on policy issues affecting renewables, many of which are available on this website.

The UCS is an independent nonprofit alliance of 50,000 concerned citizens and scientists across the country. This website details its renewable energy program which focuses on has focused on electric industry restructuring. The DWIA is a nonprofit association whose purpose is to promote wind energy in Denmark and abroad. This website provides valuable information on wind energy through articles, FAQs, pictures, and very informative guided tours.

European Wind Energy Association

A non-profit, non-governmental association with a membership consisting mainly of national affiliated societies, companies/organisations involved in wind related activities, EWEA is the largest renewable energy association in the world. This website provides information on wind in Europe and beyond as well as links to its member organizations.
